This is what I do when I gain some weight overnight
If you’ve gained a pound or two (or more) literally overnight and you don’t know why or what to do that next day, let me show you what I do.
First off, you should know that I’m not someone with crazy genetics or that has been active his entire life (quite the opposite).
Plus, I share with you what’s based on unbiased science — so no room for an either-or mindset here.
That being said…
What I do when I gain some weight overnight might be quite simple and counterintuitive, because I do nothing.
And here’s why.
The body has and will always fluctuate for various reasons (sure, many of it you can influence like your exercise or how much you eat, but there are some things you can’t control).
I call it the “DWF” concept for a reason.
Don’t let the fancy name get you… it simply means that you Deal With Fluctuations.
So doing nothing is the smartest thing someone can do when they see some changes in their weight.
In fact, the body can fluctuate from 1–2% on a daily basis.
So if you weigh 170 pounds (77 kilos) and the next day you are at 173 (78.8 kilos)… don’t panic.
If you have done the things you’re supposed to do and have been consistent, that number will get back to normal in the next few days.
But that leads me to something important…
And that’s you should never make decisions based on your weight alone — let alone on the number from a specific day.
There are some things that go inside this, but here’s the gist of it.
The number on the scale should be just one point of reference for progress, not your only point of reference.
The mirror and measurements are other tools you should rely on.
And above all… if you don’t weigh yourself every single day, don’t make any adjustments to your diet or exercise (especially when doing something like losing fat).
So the takeaway is simple.
Every time you see some fluctuations in your weight overnight, you’re gonna want to do absolutely nothing about it.
And hopefully, I’ve covered enough here to show you why.
