The problem with fat loss diets (and how to fix it)
How many diets you’ve tried to lose fat?
In fact, I should ask… How many diets have tried to lose the same weight in all those diets?
But, why is this happening to begin with?…
Well, the simple answer is because of how fat loss diets work.
Let me explain.
It’s not a surprise that we have keto, paleo, flexible dieting, IF and whatnot as “options” that all promise one thing… to lose fat and keep it off.
The issue is twofold:
- We don’t know which one should we choose
- We end up doing something that seems promising, yet the results (or the lack thereof) make us get back to where we started… sometimes even worse.
This doesn’t mean that fat loss diets don’t work or there’s a magical solution to this…
this just shows that we’re focusing on the “mechanism” rather than on the understanding of how fat loss occurs.
When you know how to lose fat based on the science of fat loss and the building block of all diets, losing fat becomes simple — not necessarily easy.
But knowing the building block of all diets is like having a clear map of where to turn left or right to get to your destination.
You stopped losing fat for over a week?…
There’s an explanation for that and a way to assess whether you should do A or B.
Do you start feeling hungry or have anxiety about dealing with food?…
This lets you know how to approach things so you don’t feel like you’re screwing up your progress when eating out.
This is why knowing the building block of all diets is (literally) the only way to lose fat.
From there, it’s just a matter of knowing what approach to take and how to handle things when you get stuck.
But sadly, we don’t focus on either of them.
Most fitness influencers and gurus in the fitness industry say that “keto” or “IF” or “carnivore” (or whatever diet they promote, really) is the only way to lose fat, and then they go ahead and explain their biases research onto why that’s the case.
