If you’ve ever wondered what happens (and has to happen) in the body to actually make you lose fat, then keep reading.

Without getting into too much jargon, body fat (AKA. adipose tissue) consists of what’s known as White Adipose Tissue, which is made of lipids. And lipids are made of stored triglycerides.

That being said, for the body to break down these stored triglycerides and use them as energy (ATP),…

it has to be “forced” to do it.

This is where what we all know as caloric intake and output comes into play.

And yes, this means that calories in vs. calories out is the only way (I can say that with 100% confidence) to lose fat.

Now the way you do it is totally up to you.

Want to do it with keto? By all means.

Maybe you feel that doing it with Intermittent Fasting is better for you? Go ahead.

The point is that you have to be in a caloric deficit to make things happen.

This is why I call this the building block of all diets.

No matter what you do, you need to have this in place for you to actually lose fat.

The body will break down (ideally, and this will be based on some factors like how aggressive you do it) fat tissue and use it as fuel…

making us lose fat.

And what if you were on a caloric deficit and didn’t lose fat (or weight in general)?

I mean, you probably were eating low calories already yet the scale stopped moving.

Well, there’s a simple answer to that.

You’re not in a caloric deficit (by definition).

There are a lot of factors like your expected vs. real maintenance calories differed way more from what you thought, that you’re eating more than what you thought or that can make you seem that it doesn’t make sense, yet…

there’s a way to overcome this scenario.
